Q: Can all the batteries with a capacity of 2800mAh deliver a current of 2800mA for an hour ?
A: It is tricky to state that batteries with the same rated capacity gives the same results in all cases. Perhaps a reason why alkaline batteries do not carry capacity ratings on the label. When used in high drain devices like digital cameras, portable CD or MP3 players, …alkaline batteries will only deliver a small percentage of their rated capacity.
However, a rechargeable Ni-MH or Ni-Cd cell when powering this kind of device, will deliver almost it's rated capacity.
This means that a rechargeable 2000mAh Ni-MH battery can take many more pictures (often 3 to 4 times more) than an alkaline battery with a capacity of 2800mAh.
You may not be able to predict how long your electronic device will run just by looking at the capacity rating of a battery.
Even comparing the capacity ratings of similar types of batteries will not often work since different manufacturers often measure battery capacity in slightly different ways.
